Welcome to Diatu (I Like Swords)

The Arrival Hall is all aflurry with activity! No one had expected so many Sundered to suddenly pop up, the staff find themselves desperately scrambling to keep up with the influx, and a bunch of new arrivals find themselves hanging out in the Hall lobby, waiting to be seen, sent home if possible, or counseled and prepared for student life if not. Rumors run like wildfire: some people believe they've been kidnapped by aliens, a worryingly persistent suggestion that this is a setup for a murder-tournament keeps circulating, and one or two nutcases insist that a dragon tinkered with the rules of magic and now they have to study at a magic school to survive. Pie stocks are grievously low, and thought Headmaster Birony herself appeared and began violating the rules of space and time to summon pies from the future, a second Headmaster Birony with an eyepatch, several war scars, and a wild hairdo appeared and promptly yelled at the first Headmaster for stealing her pies. A pie fight erupted. Pie stocks are even more grievously low now.

Still, here's your chance to talk to your fellow arrivals. Or aggressively attack the nearest target in an outrage (they set up a target dummy and labeled it VENT AGGRESSION HERE, and are trusting you guys on the honor system). Staff don't have time to talk, but they promise they'll get to you soon!

A Day In The Life

The sun is bright, the air is warm, a cool breeze blows across Anastara, clouds keep drifting directly through the island and engulfing people... it's summer on Ascelion, and the day is ripe for learning. Or as ripe as Diatu Magicademy ever can be -- though no one would trade the character and charm of the lively campus for some stodgy, regimented school more interested in forcing students into the mold than encouraging them to be their best, sometimes conditions in the Magicademy are a little inconvenient.

A toilet in Kedrigan Hall keeps clamping onto the butts of those who attempt to use it. Thus far, half a dozen students have been freed from its clutches by their friends, while reports of singed buttocks have increased twofold. (Yes, only twofold. Think about that for a minute.) Staff are on the lookout for a prankster rather than a commode, so as of yet the treacherous toilet has gone unpunished...

Not far away, a group of cleaning golems has occupied the promenade as part of an ongoing strike. As they possess only rudimentary intelligence, they believe this involves seizing objects from anyone who passes nearby and hurling them at a set of bowling pins. Meliandre Tomekin, Head of Groundskeeping, has set up shop across the Promenade; any student who wanders too close gets a big block of ice shoved into their hands, along with instructions to hold it still while she shows those reprobates what-for...

In the Great Hall proper, school clubs and activities have, as was inevitable, escalated competition for new students to yet another level which only isn't a war crime because it isn't part of a treaty yet: they've conscripted geese. Horrible geese, to be precise, who dispense flyers for various clubs with less subtlety than a nuclear holocaust. Some of them fight for dominance, others have teamed up to pin down innocent students and stuff leaflets down their throat, and one has a wand and is somehow casting Discovery spells?!

A Forgery!

"I tried a mass-Forging technique," the older student says, showing off the briefcase full of identical wands and a sign that says 'FOR $ALE CHEAP'. "Some of them are exactly what I intended, they self-correct runes, but the rest, well.. . I don't know, I can't tell, and I'm not really interested in finding out one by one, so... you buying?"

All sales final. No refunds. Caveat emptor. As for what the wands do, well... there's a reason he answered with an ellipsis when asked. On the other hand, maybe the effect isn't too terrible? Maybe it's even beneficial! Maybe the wand shoots out rainbows and muffins! Or maybe it just animates and strikes you vigorously about the head and shoulders...

Three Dragon War

Someone, we're not naming names, canons, or the color of eyes and the dragon to which they belong that forms said person's obsession, may or may not be indirectly responsible for the latest game craze sweeping Anastara: Three Dragon War, a collectible card game that features players as dragons, deploying spells, creatures, and Sundered against each other to destroy each and avoid the machinations of the Third Dragon. The awesome thing about the game is that the Third Dragon comes in all different forms: classic bundled-with-the-starter-pack Ire, super-rare Anastara Diatu, suspiciously-rare Cam Birony, ultra-common Large Eagull, and more. The concept of an outside force adding randomness to the battle and being manipulated in turn by cards means Three Dragon War is the hottest card game that's come along since the last card game that was the hottest that had come along came along.

Face-to-face, you find yourself in a duel over these cards and the magical images they summon. Can this untested deck come through if you believe in it? Or are statistics and probability actual things that actually happen? Dragon Battle! Jiao Long Fu!

There's One in Every Test Drive

Not every magical disaster is caused by some wayward student you don't know. Many of them are caused by you instead. To wit: you're on the spot in one of the magical labs, being called on to demonstrate a technique more advanced than others you've mastered so far. Failure is expected, and the wards should prevent any injury to others from a miscast spell. But will the sparks of your magic just sputter out and die? Or will you inadvertently mispronounce, misform, misshape, or miscalculate in a way that brings chaos to you and your lab partner?

(You could also manage to succeed in casting the spell, but that isn't very fun.)

Barbara wasn't entirely sure what to make of all of this. On the one hand, it was...nice to be allowed out of the house without having to worry about ending up in the wastelands of Saturn. On the other hand, Adam wasn't with her.

She was still very much a ghost, still very much dead, and she wasn't quite certain if she'd be even remotely useful to these nice people, or, if she'd be successful in learning any magic. But, she was a little excited to try.

Because, magic was gosh darn cool!

Barbara gave a nearby person a sunny smile. "This is interesting, isn't it?"

Who also apparently has no idea how to EAT a pie, because he's tearing into it with his hands and making an absolute mess cramming it into his mouth. ]

Hey, have you tried this? There's fruit in it, but it's not all dry!

[ Marik's quest to sample the entirety of the outside world has run into a roadblock. More specifically, it's run into an iceblock, as his curiosity about this GIANT COLD THING has gotten the better of him and he's stuck his tongue to it. Which feels really neat!

Not being able to detach his tongue is less neat. ]

Nnnn...NnnNNNNNNnn. MMMMMMMMMMRRRRNNNN!!!!

[ Marik hops up and down, trying to get the attention of anyone not dealing with the golem problem. Someone! Help!!! Him!!!! ]

[ Three Dragon War ]

[ To his immense (?) credit, Marik has not put the trading cards into his mouth. He is, however, peering at a game in process - not as a player, but around the shoulder of someone else playing. Excuse him. ]

Fuse those two dragons and then attack the cockatrice. That way the enemy wyvern won't be able to activate its special ability.

[ He frowns at the person he's "helping". ] Are you even thinking?

[ Seto has a headache already. Campus had been quiet for a rather long while, after the departure of most of his schoolmates and the aversion of the next dragon war. He'd resigned himself to further study in solitude when all of a sudden: new Sundered!

He spots a young one with his tongue stuck on the ice and sighs. There's something oddly familiar about this kid. ]

Hold still. I'll have to turn this ice back into water.

[ It's a simple mathematical formula, and he just needs a few moments to draw it up. Marik is lucky Seto's had plenty of time to practice, minimizing the risk of screwups.

But it's about to get very wet with all that ice melting at once. ]

It's always nice to see new life being breathed back into this campus...but of course that means trouble too. She folds her arms and glares back down at the wands.

"Should you really be selling these if you don't know what they do? That's how accidents happen, and the school medics have been swamped this week with new student injuries!"

Said student is Not Happy about this, and snarls at her. "Oh, look who decided to be a busybody today."

She scoffed. "Just a concerned citizen! But have it your way, I'll just tell the medics to be ready."

Maybe...adding to the tension wasn't such a great idea. He sure looked sour, and like he was about to cast a retaliatory spell just as Sunset turned her back. Oops.

New clubs are on the horizon! Sunset's especially excited about the school play, and she's handed out flyers. A stack was even taken by a helpful student who promised that other students would definitely see them.

She was absolutely not warned about the geese, though, which led to her chasing one down in an attempt to wrangle it.

"No, stop! No one's going to want to audition if you harass everyone!"

The goose simply honks at her and hops on the nearest student. What a long day this will be.

At last, there's a break from the mayhem. Sunset dips into the town bookstore to select new magic books, all the better to get prepared for the new semester. New students are coming and she has to be a role model!

"Twilight's the better bookworm, but...it's up to me now, I guess. Gotta find the answers somewhere."

Crowley wasn't going to interfere in this. After all it was the wand selling kid's choice to retaliate with a debilitating spell and if he really thought hitting this Sunset kid with a with a tripping curse was a good idea... well, who was Crowley to interfere in that? Even if Sunset was walking away and it would be a sucker punch. Even if she was getting too near the staircase and might break her neck on the way down...

He stood and stepped between wand kid and Sunset. I mean a prank was a prank but it wouldn't have been funny at all if she had actually been hurt!

three dragon war

If there's one thing Kaiba's retained after all this time, it's a burning desire to conquer any and all games. From the Anastara War Games to various nighttime chess matches, he's competed for the sake of being good at something. And that's led him to this hot new card game.

He's running a demo for the newer students at the moment, hoping to entice some players to sweeten the pot. The player opposing him foolishly attempts to attack him directly, and Kaiba outright cackles.

"You fool! You've activated my trap, Vortex of Chaos! Your dragons are grounded, and mine gain all the power they need to crush your field! Now, Ghost Blast!"

The illusory dragon on his side of the field bears a suspicious resemblance to his all-time favorite dragon, silvery-white with blue eyes. Huh. But she's a beast all her own, conjuring a blast of wind that manages to ruffle the audience's hair.

"Nothing's ever predictable or straightforward in this game, at least when it's played properly. Any questions? Make 'em quick."

As cross as he looks, he really will help...or attempt to.

mayhem on ice

Golem bowling. Right. Kaiba's all for ignoring this---do the cleaning golems ever do anything other than make trouble? But he finds himself roped into holding an ice block, and he glares at it.

"What are we supposed to do with this---build a giant freezer and shove them in until they chill out?"

That's actually not a terrible idea, in his opinion, but he doesn't see how they're going to stop the golem's inconvenient bowling session with it.

a quiet moment

Kaiba really likes quiet, and one of his favorite places for quiet is at Loch Lake. Its waters are ever-shifting and mysterious, but he doesn't have enough of a death wish to dive in there alone.

No, the pleasantly cool shore is the perfect place to study for his Draconic Knowledge exam. So with a quickly whispered Modification to the nearest plants, he manages to create a little glowing spot for study as the sun sets. He might even be able to stargaze from here...not that he'd ever be caught dead with that level of sentimentality.

But his eyes do drift upward every now and then...as fascinating as dragons are, the author somehow managed to write the dullest possible prose.

Mayhem on Ice

“I got no idea of why we’re needing to carry ice blocks around either,” Lena sighs as she glances at her ice block.

She could feel the numbing cold on her fingers, thinking that if they don’t get to put them some place where they don’t melt, they will have hypothermia for weeks. Normally back at home, she is totally fine with carrying some bags of crushed ice from the grocery shop, but this is getting out of hand as the man’s irritated glance at the golems has told her.

“Do you have an idea of what to do with these blocks?” she asks the man, hoping that he has the answer.

Aziraphale/Mr. Fell - Good Omens

Arrival

After all the world hopping, Aziraphale was surprised to find himself back in the magic school Diatu. As far as world hopping went, this had been his first, and he was hopeful that there might be at least a few familiar faces. Crowley, too, if he is lucky. So far, every world, he has been so lucky eventually.

He lingered around the training dummy with his uniform in hand, Creme Brulee coiled somewhere in the folds, and waited and hoped to catch sight of someone he might know. Or help new people, though he wasn't sure how much use he would be--it seemed the world had changed a bit while he was out.

Dreadful to hear about those pie stocks, though. He remembered the pies here to be quite good.

There's One in Every Test Drive

Mr. Fell looked distraught. The bowtie was a disaster, some splotchy combination of colors, as if caught in a paintball fight.

"I was trying to embue it with stars," he explained, gesturing at the accessory around his neck. "A dear friend had made me one when I was here last, and I wanted to recreate the effect." A sad little pout. "And now it's just ruined."

He turned hopeful, sad eyes at his lab partner for help fixing the problem.

He had literally just turned and walked one step away after having said... what had he said, have a nice doomsday? Aziraphale's words still stung, hanging like this heavy shroud around him and making it all the more difficult to process the reality warping that had occurred around him. He actually blinked as he stared up at the massive school.

"Doomsday happened fast..."

One of the new arrivals hesitated as the pie they held in their hands was slowly lowered back to the table. This was madness. They didn't all have to fight. What was the point when all of them just wanted the same thing, to figure out what was going on and maybe even return home. He was prepared to walk away from the pie fight until...

"Oi! You there!" Crowley slithered up beside the kid, "Are you really going to let that guy get away with calling you names like that? I mean, maybe you don't have a problem being bullied for the rest of the school year but... it's only a pie. It's not like it's actually going to hurt anyone."

That's right! It was only a pie! And that bully had been calling everyone names as he had become too invested in the pie war! Really if you thought about it he deserved to get hit with as many pies as he had been hitting everyone else with. With renewed vigor the new arrival lifted the pie from the table and sent flying into the face of the potential bully as Crowley slipped out the back, smiling like the sinister serpent he was.

There might not be a pie left in the castle when this is through.

Serpent's first day of playing hooky

He was supposed to be in some sort of lab but it was a large school, the map he had been given kept leading him in circles, and in the end it made a much better paper airplane than a map anyway. Crowley let the thing fly not caring where it landed, or who it might have hit on the way down, and lounged across the stone railing to perform a delinquent school kid's first rite of passage... that of playing hooky.

"Do you need dice to do this right? In the movies kids are always slipping out to throw some dice or take a smoke... It's not a prerequisite? Surely you can cut class for any reason you like!"

Like being lost and not wanting to admit it.

Serpent's first day of playing hooky

A shiny metallic bird, hopped towards the discarded airplane map sparing a few curious pecks in it's general direction. It's owner happened to be the one within earshot to hear the questions being posed. It wasn't so much that Atem was intentionally skipping class, but it was so late now there was little point in attending.

"... I'm fairly certain that dice are a prerequisite, when cards are not available." He was kidding, maybe. The prospect of striking up a game would allay any guilt he might have been feeling on slacking off himself.

I like Swords. And knives. And boomerangs. But not horrible geese.

Hard to look cool or mysterious while lurking along the walls of the school... when he had feathers sticking out of his hood and clothes. But Erik was trying, listening to the chaos of the arrivals as people worked themselves into a flurry over possible reasons for being here. Honestly, he should probably be worried, but being kidnapped for a magical-possibly-murder school was pretty low on the list of weird things that had happened to and around him recently. Could've done without the murderous birds campaigning for stuff, though.

"Look, don't ask. You don't wanna know. Trust me. But I'd suggest staying out of there until the honking stops." He blew away a falling feather before it could land in his face.

"Since you're here, though, what's your take on this whole thing? You don't really think it's aliens, do you?"

Erik had been watching the gameplay for a while to get a grasp on it before stepping in with an interest in trying it out himself. He shuffled the deck with the inexpertness of someone who had to remember how not to shuffle a deck, and then drew his first hand.

As he played his first move, he looked over at his opponent with a sly grin. "So... what're we playing for?"

Heedless of who he was talking to or what he was doing, or why there were feathers sticking out of his clothes, Eleven lit up the moment he spotted him and made a swift beeline for his friend.

"I wasn't expecting to find you here. How are you?"

Harry Potter | Harry Potter Series

Arrival
Harry has just arrived at Diatu but he’s not sure of where to begin: There are so many people in the crowd but he almost feels like a fish out of fish despite having magic beforehand. Being here though almost feels like being in Hogwarts again: magic feels so much alive in this place, though it can’t always replace Hogwarts entirely. The teenager is missing it so much right now.

Right now he’s at the lobby, wondering if everyone gets to go home: he has been meaning to return to go back and help with repairs at home when he turns to the person next time and speaks to them, “Strange time we’re in. What are your thoughts about this place and magic so far?”

A Day in a Life
The sun is now shining as Harry walks up to the Great Hall to get something to eat for lunch: getting himself some vegetable lentil soup and cornbread muffins. He was just meaning to have a quiet meal when he notices the ill-tempered geese handing out club flyers in ways he has never seen before: some geese were fighting among themselves over who gets to give students a flyer first while several are chasing down students everywhere in the Hall.

There is one student running past him who’s trying to escape the geese’s ‘pin a student down and shove a flyer in the mouth’ tactic, begging him to watch out for the geese. At first, Harry thought that person was just joking when a goose flies next to his spot on the table, staring dagger eyes down at him.

“Oh hello there, are you going to take a rest right now?” he asks with a concerned tone, “Or you’re trying to give me this flyer today?”

He’s going to need some help right now.

Arrival

Kyoko was looking around, confused, then she spotted Harry. She smiled and bounded over to him. "You're here too! Do you have any clue how we call the coffee shop to let them know we're kind of stuck here and can' make it to our shifts?" She felt terribly guilty about that, especially with both of them abruptly missing. Then again she had been in that falling apart world for so long that she had probably already been fired.

Entering into a Strange World (Arrival)
One of the newest arrivals literally sticks out like a sore thumb today as Lena enters Diatu for the first time. The young lady looks rather scared of what just happened and now she is told that she can learn magic. She has always thought that magic only exists in fiction from books to films, but she has never expected it to become so real in the world Diatu is in.

Lena still has the Pants on as she was gearing to apologize to Kostos for the miscommunication between their families (well, between their grandparents) and she was meaning to pass it to Bridget real soon, but now she’s stuck in here with nowhere to go and no way to send the Pants to Bri. So she is there, hoping that the person running the school could send her back to Santorini fast.

Can someone help her to get past the anxiety and befriend her?

Attack of the Geese (A Day in a Life)
Lena is told that there are new clubs and activities to join in, and when she hears that there is an art club looking for new students, she gets interested and walks into the Great Hall, hoping to see students having fun, talking, and club reps handing out flyers like in the school she and Carmen currently attend to.

Except that she is not expecting geese to be mixed into the plan and she is currently swatting at a couple of them trying to go after her and shove a flyer onto her mouth.

“Would you please try to behave yourselves for once?” she tries to ask them nicely and politely but the honking never stops as they try to swarm her as if she’s a flower in Spring and they are like hungry bees.

Attack of the Geese
Loki has so far managed to avoid the geese. It's like they don't even see him. Which they won't, thanks to a small spell; he's grateful to find his magic still works in this world. "You'll have to be more firm than that." Called to the girl currently being swarmed.

It is almost impossible not to see her. Not to notice her. Because while she herself seems plain and unassuming, being neither attractive nor ugly, she is wearing a work jumpsuit that is so brightly PINK that the color seems to almost sear itself into your eyeballs. The color was a little like a train wreck - hard to look away from, disaster to stare at. This wasn't a magical effect, it was just evidence of the weird tastes of the man who designed the outfit.

The hot pink worksuit was worn over worn shoes and a white teeshirt and had a white hip pouch that just made it seem all the brighter.

The girl was also wearing what looked like two wooden bowling pins on the white belt to one side. They were actually disguised swords.

She was bouncing a bit on her feet, trying to look around, very confused. She had thought that they had been sending her home, or back to Avalon. This... was neither. Where was she now? Were there actor here that could help her with her new... issue? She wasn't sure.

There's One in Every Test Drive

Kyoko... well weird as it seemed, Kyoko actually loved school. and this being weird magic school.... she might have been already gaining a reputation as the weird girl who keeps looking for Faeries. She was decent at classes that just needed critical thought, logic, or intelligence. But as soon as you added magic to the mix, her intellect seemed to take a nose dive. She had trouble focusing and kept getting lost in mental fantasy lands.

So now she had to demonstrate a skill and her mind had been wandering and she wasn't sure how to do it. It was supposed to be a spell to summon food, in this case, street corn on a bed of relish and toast. But see Kyoko heard the words summon and Corn and thought they were supposed to summon a Faerie. so she had all sorts of extra components ready to go and wasn't listening to anyone... or at least... wasn't hearing them. Words of caution fell away unheard as she bounced and worked, excited to see Corn again. She put in the last ingredient and....

BOOM!

The explosion rocked the room, hurting no one but denting any unprotected structures. The room was bathed in glitter, each speck like a tiny mirror and when that mirror rested on someone....? It showed anyone who looked at it a glimpse of a moment of their memory. From their point of view. No sound. And only about two or three seconds or so. Like gifs of things they'd seen in the past.

So Kyoko was covered in glitter that showed flashes of moments. A woman with long dark hair in her hot pink outfit tearing up. A flash of another girl, about Kyoko's age, with bandages around her neck looking gloomy. A handsome dark haired man kissing a small stone. The same man with his head against a fluffy lamb that didn't suit him at all. A little girl with a bright smile. Another little girl sitting down and staring up in seeming horror, face streaked with tears. A dark haired woman in a tight bun and business suit that looked huge pulling away. A crumpled test paper with wet spots and a grade of 88. A poster of a prince and princess in front of a castle. A weird looking ice omelette with the number 8 written on it in ketchup. A handsome blond man shoveling food in his face. A dark haired man with a huge snake around his neck.

Kyoko, of course, was transfixed by the sparkles in the air and had not yet seen what happened when they landed on people....

Ugh. Seriously? The purple haired girl looked disgusted, trying to project an aura of "don't get near me, idiot" while looking for anyone she knew. Ugh, Ugh, and triple Ugh even.

It wasn't exactly lucky that she had her spell book and spell gear with her when she arrived. She always had that on her these days. But if she had to be tossed into yet another world without warning she wanted a few things from home.

.....

No. She refused to think of Auradon as home. It wasn't. She had turned her back on that.

But why was she here then? Had they finished saving the kingdom? Had Dreamfinder botched another spell? Or was she still in the kingdom and this was just like those bubbles or something? All the more reason to avoid people. And not touch them.

She shifted position. Her spell book, hidden inside her jacket, shifted with her reassuringly. Fine. Whatever this was... she could handle it.

Mal looked like a girl in her late teens, dark purple hair half pulled into a neat ponytail with intentionally loose tendrils around her face and a loose flow down her back. She wore a black leather jacket with spray painted designs of dragons along her sleeves in purple and green. Her shirt under where it showed was purple under black mesh. Her fingerless gloves, hiding her ring, were dark purple with the letters VK on one and AK on the other in neon green. Purple leather pants ripped artfully to show black silk under, and black boots with spikes pacing the laces. She also had a large black backpack with green and purple dragon designs spray painted all over it.

If she had known she was going to meet people there would have been a lot more spikes. But she wasn't wasting a spell on that till she knew if it was needed. So she'll be glaring at people as she looked for a familiar face.

Well, she had spotted Crowley but she was looking for a familiar face that she didn't want to punch. She was keeping a half eye on him, however.

Day in the life
"If they can't prove it was me," she said casually over her shoulder as she left a room, "then they can hardly suspend me." That said she stalked out of the classroom and down the hall. Was she just implying that she was the prankster and that they couldn't prove it. Yes. Was she actually the prankster? Nope. But far be it from her to leave evil credit unclaimed.

She was trying to build up a rep here. In Dragon Hall back home people were scared of her, which was as things were supposed to be. In Boreadon it had gone from fear to a weird mix of awe and respect after she took down her mother. She'd never been fully comfortable with that. But then in the Kingdom she'd been in last... ugh. Too many people who thought they saw good in her. Gross.

So now she had a chance to prove herself evil. In fact...

Glancing around to be sure no teachers were around she dropped her backpack on the ground and fished out the magic paints she'd mixed up in class. Not as satisfying as spray paint, but it was faster, and right now she needed to build rep more than she needed the artistic release. She left her tag on the wall, shoved her paint in the bag again and kept walking as she slung it back on her knapsack.

Long live Evil!

One in every test drive

It isn't that Mal got the spell wrong. Or rather, it wasn't going to do what the teacher wanted. But that was hardly a mistake. There was nothing quite like pulling off a prank while the teacher was watching after all. She swapped and palmed ingredients whenever the teacher and her partner weren't watching. Mixed with what she was supposed to put in changed the spell from a simple illusion in a cloud of pink smoke... to a roiling cloud of purple smoke that carried the stink of rotting food and fetid water and over burned coffee. The smoke was designed to not just fill the room but coat it, leaving an ichor of stink all over the room, the desks, the teacher, the students... anything it landed on, really.

She watched, waiting for people to start coughing and gagging as she breathed deep of the smoke, eyes flashing green.

Smelled like home.

"'Long Live Evil?' Isn't that...um..."

The young Italian boy who went into the room, because of course he's early for class and eager to learn, now stares up at the graffiti, seeming more confused than concerned. He would seem fairly nondescript, if it wasn't for the fact that he still has, apparently, failed to discover shoes and has a slight fishy scent that gives away his aquatic origins. Now, however, he's completely confused. Sure, he's met evil humans before. Ercole is a perfect example. He's just never met a human that actually called themselves evil, and he's perplexed.

Arrival

Aqua wasn't going to take any of the pies if they were in such short supply. She'd leave them for those who were hungrier than she was.

She needed to get her bearings and found a place against a wall where she could sit and close her eyes, focusing. Once again she had the odd sensation of memoirs merging, of another of her splintered selves becoming herself.

Xion. Roxas. Prompto. Noctis. Everyone... Her darker self. Races. Plots.

That joined with the other memories. Link. World hoping. Ruby City. Dying. Mutants. Fear of heights. Not having a fear of heights.

This was just one more new set of memories, one more group of friends. One more set of hearts connected to her own.

She stretched out her hand and...

her Keyblade appeared. She flexed her fingers and it vanished. Another flex and a different one appeared. She vanished that as well, then reached into her pocket. Three.

Three Wayfinders. She set them back in her pocket and wondered if she'd wind up with a fourth soon.

Now that she was settled, and mastered, she stood and looked to see if anyone else might need help.


Teaching again?

It didn't much surprise Aqua that she was teaching again. She did seem to keep winding up in that role. It was part of a job of a Master to help the next generation, after all.

Her class schedule was interesting, both the classes that she was teaching, and those she was taking. Today she was preparing to teach a multiverse philosophy class. She had shown up early to prepare the room. So if anyone else wanted to come in early as well... They might get some one on one time with the new blue haired teacher.

"Yer pie stocks are grievously low? What, did ye run out of ingredients, bakers, pies themselves, or all three?" Roisin (Rosh for short) was...a bit perplexed at all this. Here there are wizards, real ones, and instead of talking about...certain problems of her own (like this not being America any more...), she's asking about pie stocks!!

Maybe she noticed your funny look. All she does is blink back at you, though, and then wink. "What?" she asks. "I'm a baker and I specialize in pies!"

Rosh seems to have settled in to the ridiculousness--she'd been pranked by said commode, and instead of dwelling on her unsettled drawers, she'd decided to soothe the resulting pain from the posterior thus pranked.

Thus were Booty Pies(tm) born. Maybe this wasn't one of her best ideas, but by the gods she was sticking with it. They were harmless in the long run--mostly a balm for battered booties, in all honesty. A mild painkiller, something to make the topical salve in the crust smell appealing to the injured subject--and a silly name. And they're small, considering the pie shortage. Crustless, too.

Maybe she should've gone after the toilet.

There was something disconcerting about standing here in this place again. But in the midst of chaos, that nagging feeling faded in favor of ducking out of the way of an incoming pie. He met the eyes of the nearest student with a rueful smile.

"It isn't always like this," he assured, then paused. "..At least, I don't think it was."


II. A Forgery

"You don't want to find out what they do," Eleven repeated with some level of both incredulity and growing insult. "You Forged these; the spells for detecting their properties are simple ones."

Unfortunately, he found his argument summarily ignored. Eleven rubbed an agitated hand over his face, then offered his opinion to the next set of curious eyes.

"I can't remember the spells off-hand, but someone should be able to Intimate or otherwise detect the spells attached to these objects. Please be careful."

On hearing a flood of new Sundered had arrived, Tenn hurried to the Arrival Hall. Since the Three Dragon War, the fates of those cast away had been heavy on his mind. Had they been sent back home? He hoped so. But this being the work of a dragon, they could've been flung into the far cosmos or... sufficed to say, Tenn was worried.

Even telling himself to be ready for anything, he has to stand there a moment in the doorway staring in disgust at the... food fight. (Birony, why?!) But leaving is not an option, as Tenn catches sight of a familiar brown-haired swordsman....

“Eleven!”

If Tenn's voice doesn't reach him, the pink umbrella suddenly Discovered to his left to block an incoming pie certainly will!

Welcome to Diatu (He does, in fact, like swords.)

Well, this wasn't at all how he expected to be spending his day. Still, the Great Sylvando was nothing if not adaptable, and he knew that his employees at the opera house were capable; they'd keep things running and keep the show going without him if they had to.

For now, it was time to do what came naturally at any large gathering, magical kidnapping induced or otherwise. Namely, he was going to mingle and look for familiar faces. And maybe find that lady who staged the pie-fight, because that doubles thing was really a fabulous trick, and he wanted to see if he could work something like it into a a new act.

A Day in the Life

The geese were, as advertised, horrible. Both in terms of generally being pests and in terms of effectiveness at the job they'd been given. Still at least someone was getting some entertainment out of it. Sylvando was currently engaged in hand to beak combat with the goose that had been conscripted by the gardening club. He was wielding a slim sword, the goose had gotten a hold of a hoe from the club's supplies, and Sylv at least seemed to be having a great time, playing up the impromptu 'duel'.

"Ha-ha! Take that, you feathery fiend!", he said neatly parrying the hoe with a flourish. "Not even the most persistent of poultry can best the Great Sylvando!" He seems to be drawing an audience, both of students and even a few other geese. It's certainly interesting to watch. But is it art?

A Forgery!

The wands may look identical, but Sylvando still examines them with a critical eye, weighing a few of them one after the other in his hand as if they were blades he was testing for balance. He didn't seem impressed with the results. "If this is what your mass Forging produces, darling, I'd stick with smaller batches from now on," he said. "Whatever magical effects they might have, they're very poorly made. They're not likely to last a week of normal use."

[Well this was certainly not expected. Out of all things that could have happened being in another world altogether was not on the top of his list of things to do. More so a school that seemed to involve magic.

Does this mean this was similar to that of roleplaying games where yo play out a certain role and maybe learn spells along the way? Maybe not exact because with those there were usually adventures but close enough.

But what was the first thing he was going to do. Explore of course. See what was around and get a better bearing to the situation.

But soon he instead finds himself very much lost. This... wasn't exactly great. Not great at all. But at least he was confident and not at all ashamed to at least ask for help.]

Excuse me... Can you tell me where I am? I was looking around and got lost so I don't actually know where I am.

Three Dragon Game
[This is an interesting game. One he had never seen before. He didn't have the cards to play at the moment but he always enjoyed people playing and learning the game.

Plus he seemed to be getting the hang of it already.]

This game at the start seems complicated but once you get the hang of it the way the game works is amazing.

There is always one
[Yugi had no idea just what he did wrong. But there was an explosion and not there was bits of god knows what laying everywhere. He thought he had honestly followed what he had meant to be doing.

But after a few moments of coughing and waving his arms to dispel the smoke which really didn't do anything.]

Okay... that didn't go as expected.

Anyway, welcome to Diatu Magicademy! You're here because someone's sundering...er, moving things across dimensions, to put it simply...went wrong, and now you're so full of magical energy that you need to learn to channel it properly or you'll explode. But it's really not as scary as it sounds!

Luca has no idea how he got here. Sure, he was supposed to be in a school, but he's absolutely certain this isn't the right one. For one thing, Giulia isn't here. For another, everyone else seems just as confused as he is. And, the absolutely most important thing that lets him know something is very, very wrong...he just appeared here off the train. No getting off the train, no actually coming to this place, he's just suddenly here.

He sits there, quietly looking around trying to figure out what's going on when the pies start flying.

When one pie lands near Luca, broken pieces scattering across the table he's sitting at, he notices it smells good. Curious, he picks up a piece and eats it. It tastes good, too. And so Luca watches everything around him, wondering when they'd get any sort of real explanation while nibbling on the broken up pie he found.

A Day in the Life
Luca was curious about the clubs, so decided to go check things out. Honestly, he was hoping for an astronomy club, but soon finds himself with a flier for the swim club shoved into his hands.

"Oh! That looks fun! I wonder if they'd let sea monsters join, or if that would be considered cheating?"

Then another goose comes up and shoves another flier into his hands. This one's for the drama club.

"Um...thanks, but I really don't--"

Another goose, another flier. Chess club? He doesn't even know what chess is.

"I really don't need any more fliers Signore Goose, I haven't even..."

More geese begin to mob him. Another flier. Another Flier. Now Luca's getting annoyed.

"Will you all stop!"

They don't stop. Soon Luca finds himself running from the geese, trying to get away from all the fliers being shoved at him.

There's One In Every Test Drive
"I...don't actually know how to do that."

The teacher reassures him that he just has to do his best. He's supposed to be creating a little ball of light. Instead, a dark cloud spreads over him. It crackles threateningly, and soon rainwater begins pouring down on Luca, reverting him to his sea monster form.

Well, at least at a school for magic, they probably will just accept that sort of thing. He sighs.

"Sorry about the wet floors."

Day in the Life

Have no fear! Or have plenty of fear. Suddenly something small yet distinctly reptilian came charging at the poor kid, but their target isn't the kid, it's the geese. The sunlight shines nicely on the predominantly purple scales and golden hues as they let out an actual blast of fire at the birds like a true monster of myth.

... A baby-sized monster of myth, but papers caught in the crossfire burn up as the geese honk angrily or with fright.

"That's right, beat it! Get out of here!" the small dragon shouted out after the first breath to sweep his horns at one of the bolder stragglers. "Go bother someone else!"

A single golden dragonfly hovered close by their side and watched the turn of events with a wary expression on their face.

A. [The Weirdest Welcome]

Of all the things Vio could remember, the chaos of this place had to trump it. It’s a good thing he’s tried to keep himself out of the way, huh?

Y’know, if he didn’t have to dodge one of the flung pies. Someone missed their original target. ...What, that target might’ve been him? Clearly not! He’s just standing there, not getting involved with crazy stories or activities!

Vio pressed two of his fingers to his forehead, a subtle mix of worry and frustration adoring his features. “How can anyone believe such things…” What the heck were aliens!?

“Is it always this crazy?”

B. [Someone Needs to Chill]

Compared to what he’s heard going on, holding a block of ice was surprisingly tame. Still, how hard was it to get a sense of peace? He looked back at the golems, then the block of ice, and slowly backed away.

Any student he passes by could hear him say: “You might want to try something else.” Like maybe question why he’s still holding a probably-melting block of ice.

C. [The Stick is Mightier]

Vio’s pretty sure by now that his curiosity is going to get him in trouble one of these days. Assuming it hasn’t already, as he’s currently given up on trying to catch the animate wand. Opting, instead, to protect himself, occasionally swatting the air so it stopped hitting his shoulders and arms.

“Ow!” How was he failing this badly!? He was a knight-in-training! A part of Link, one of the four heroes! And he’s losing to this silly little thing! “Ah-! Hold still!”

D. [Three Dragon War]

Card games weren’t a thing in Hyrule. So like with everything else while he’s here, Vio got his own deck. But instead of playing (right away), he’s been on the outskirts of the crowd, observing how to play.

“Hm…” Sharp blue eyes glanced between the two duelists, an eyebrow raised. Based on his very, very rudimentary grasp, it didn’t seem like this particular player could come back from this. “What’s the plan here...?”

Or, later on, he finds someone challenging him! Vio swiftly waves his free hand, trying to hide his deck. Clearly that attracted some attention to him. “Ah, no-! I’m not a player.” Yet. He just wants to get the game first.

"Sometimes," a voice helpfully answered. Regardless if it was a rhetorical question or not.

Look down. While the purple dragon was certainly no chihuahua, he was only about the size of a large dog- which tends to run contrary to people's expectations for his kind. Or it entirely adds to his charm.

Spyro, accompanied by a golden glowing dragonfly, was seated on his haunches and confirmed himself to be the one speaking within the next moment. "It livens things up around here when it's harmless."

I. Welcome to Paradise
Ronstadt had gotten all of his freak-out out of his system when he'd turned around in the desert and found himself suddenly standing in a grassy meadow that looked like it had been filmed somewhere in New Zealand. The trek to the Magicademy had given him plenty of time to think. Whatever Side B shenanigans had caused this, even if it had been his overachieving attempt at the Sparkle Party spell ... he wasn't entirely unhappy about it. A place that taught magic was pretty much exactly what he needed.

So he parks himself like the perfect wallflower on the edge of the pie fighting and dummy stabbing, a scrawny blond with hair like electrified linguini in skinny black jeans, checkered Vans, and a well-worn Ramones t-shirt. Anyone who looks at him will get a friendly tip of the head and a little wave.

"Hey, man. What's happenin'?"

II. Fake It
Ronstadt figured that his Craydar would be able to warn him if he was buying a wand that did anything particularly nasty, so he concentrated as he stared down at the briefcase, consulting his trusty mental roommate, HeadVox, for advice.

"Beats da hell outta me, mon," Vox said, his Rasta accent full of bewilderment. "Ain't seen magic like dis."

Great. Well, he supposes it's no worse than Shot Roulette night at the Hula Shaker, and new magic is new magic. It wouldn't be the first time he had to learn from his mistakes. He pays the kid and selects a thin, whippy piece of hazel, the handle curved just right to fit his hand. Feels like it's meant for me. That's a good sign, right?

He takes it outside, onto the grounds, just in case, and gives it a perfunctory flick. Whoever's closest may find that their shoelaces have tied themselves together. Whether they find it out the easy way, or the hard way, however ...

III. Deal Me In
When someone asked him if he wanted to play cards, Ronstadt had agreed, thinking he was getting roped into poker, maybe blackjack, or, if they were feeling really oldschool, Uno.

The deck that had been crammed into his hands was way beyond him.

"So, uh ... wait. If it says 'instant' I can play it right away, right?"

Whoever's sitting across from him might be in for a long game.

IV. Go Big or Go Home
Demonstrating a spell hadn't seemed like a big deal to Ronstadt. He knew he had power - power enough to turn a simple party spell from home into something more like an Aurora Borealis. So it was just a case of learning how to control it. He'd studied his notes extensively, to the point that he was seeing the runes in his sleep. It was a little different than casting with words, the way Hattie had been beginning to teach him, but ... he had a feeling he could still knock it out of the park.

The spell in question was meant to be a simple light spell, and the professor had dimmed the classroom so that students' results - meant to mimic a small candle or lantern - would be easily assessed. Ronstadt put the last few strokes on his rune diagram, blew on the ink so that it would dry, and hovered a hand over the sigil, concentrating on his power, drawing it up through his feet, his legs, his arm, down through to his fingers.

The next thing he knew, the table was on fire.

"Shit--!"

Wary about getting caught up in all the chaos, particularly as someone barely gracing two feet tall, Gobo is sticking to the outskirts himself. He's watching the pie fight part with caution and part with interest, because what Fraggle worth his radishes doesn't like that sorta thing? Point is, it takes him right past Ronstadt, whose greeting catches him up to a pause.

Glancing over and up, he stared for half a beat more before offering a smile and a return dip of his head. "Oh, hey there. Just keeping an eye on things, I guess."

This is certainly... new. Not exactly what he pictured happening in his life at this point in time, but he supposed that's what it was all about, right? Only, this is some straightforward as heck magic, moreso than he's used to- and even then he'd only just been getting used to magic in the first place. (It's a long story)

Still though, anxious though he is about being around so many unfamiliar faces and shapes and in a bizarre place, he's an explorer at heart. That just means today, sticking around the outskirts of all the chaos that's going on, which works anyway since he's barely two feet tall. He'd get stepped on, if he wasn't careful!

Even at his size though, Gobo's violently orange and pink colors make him stand out. He's a curiosity to be sure, and if not approached while checking things out, there's always when an errant pie catches him in the face. Sputtering some, he has to stop and wipe it off, which being furry is certainly easier said than done...


A Day in the Life
Dodging those weird golem things had been a special challenge all in its own, though not as much as you'd think for a zippy thing like him. He did linger for a while all the same, watching whatever- or whoever? -gets hurled at the bowling pins. That looked like fun! ...Not fun enough that he'd do it, though the chaotic game(?) did have him missing a certaint friend or two of his.

While he was able to avoid the golems, the geese proved a different problem. So someone might spot a yelling blur go blazing past, being chased down by a goose honking angrily even around the flyer it carried. Help a Fraggle out?


Forgery
If there's one thing he isn't afraid of though, it's experimenting with something. Call it that natural Fraggle curiosity, plus their natural impulse to "try now, figure out later." So he's picked up one of the wands, and while he has the presence of mind to get away from the main knot of people, he's still perfectly present.

Which means someone, perhaps several someones, gets a front row seat to this going wrong. At first, the wave of the wand didn't seem to do anything. Gobo glanced down it, then waggled it- and immediately yelped when it suddenly jumped. Lurching some, it waved itself and then... And then, Gobo was lifting up off his feet. Unbalancing backwards with a shout, he started waving arms and legs, flipping over to his stomach. And floating up several inches, and still slowly going upward.

"Oh noo, not again-!"

That sure is a new student flying away. That probably isn't a good impression. Not that Kaiba particularly cares about the school's reputation, but if the senior wizards have to save this student, they might not be able to intervene in a more serious issue. And there's never a shortage of magical mishaps around here!

So he reaches out and grabs the poor student's wrist, hoping that's enough to keep him from flying away while he deals with this. Now to address the unfortunate student.

"They're selling bargain basement spells again? Seriously? Ugh, just...hang on. If I'm going to reverse it, I need to know as much about the spell as possible. Do you feel...off, at all?"

June wasn't entirely sure how to react when she suddenly found herself in this strange place. She had heard some theories about what was happening, but no one really seemed to be sure what was true and what were just rumors.

And though she kept a listen for any kind of information that would be useful, it didn't stop her from approaching people with a bright smile. "Hi there!" she chirped happily. "My name's June! What's your name?"

June was excited by all the different clubs, and had quite a collection of flyers stacked together so she could try to decide which one she wanted to join.

"Oh, they all look so fun!" she said, holding up two different flyers and looking between them. She doesn't notice the geese that are fighting nearby, both wrestling to try to offer her another one.

"I don't know which one to choose!"

She hadn't heard much past "Three Dragon War" and "card games", but she was already in.

"I've never played a card game before!" she said as she opened up a starter deck. "How do you play?"

There's a loud explosion that comes from one of the magical labs, and people who look will see a cloud of colorful smoke escaping the room as the door opens to let out the students who were inside.

When the smoke slowly cleared, it revealed the lab room covered in rainbow glitter, and June standing at the front of the room with a sheepish smile on her face.

"Oops..." she said, rubbing the back of her head. "Sorry!"

Alec Hardy looks irritated. He normally does, but this time it's ramped up to eleven. He doesn't know where he is, again. He doesn't know what's happening to him, again. He doesn't know why his pulse is pounding in his ears but he does know the dried blood on his clothes and on his face --staining everything most like, and the hard yellow eyes of a cousin that wasn't. He is not in the mood to be dithered over by a bunch of men wearing silly bathrobes.

"No, listen, I don't give a fuck, alright? I am tired of giving a fuck. I'm here. Fine. I'm still not where I'm meant to be. Just point me in the direction of a hot bath and some bloody sanity before I lose it."



Day in the Life

Alec is cornered. Fortunately, he didn't try to sit on the bloody thing and hadn't had the urge to go, but that didn't stop it from attacking him when he walked past the loo and trapping him against the wall. His wand was useless as he really had to focus on his breathing to calm himself down from the raging toilet that tried to eat him or he was going to have bigger problems.

"Can't you piss off and bother someone else?" The toilet lunges for him and he gets a foot on the seat of it just against the bowl and away from the teeth, but his grip isn't sure and he winces as water sloshes over his leg. "A little help?!"


Expecto...Whatever

"Well this is shit." Alec is sporting a pair of antlers. He didn't know what he did to make them come, but he has a feeling he liked them. "Look, do you mind making me a magical hacksaw or whatever? I'm not going through this again. Bloody impossible to get through the door."

As much as he stared and circled, to stare some more he couldn't quite put his finger on it. Maybe it was all the blood making it difficult to see the man through the grime... he just looked awful... and yet some how vaguely familiar much like a face Crowley had seen in reflections every time he happened to walk past a mirror. Did they... look alike?

Crowley inclined his head.

"What class did you just come from... Don't tell me cooking."

[A Sudden Realization]

[Returning abruptly to the magical academy had been jarring but considerably less so than the first time. Atem even found himself looking at various portions of the school with fond affection as he recalled some of his past exploits. He hadn't fully understood what had drawn him here before, though he had assumed he was meant to aide the sundered in some form- though the return trip further confused the issue. If they had all managed to return to their own dimensions and times what was the need for this second encounter?

He seemed to have retained his personal effects, as evidenced in part by the Millennium Puzzle draped around his neck. As he walked across the courtyard he stopped suddenly stunned by a familiar sensation that swept over him.

It was as if he could feel a pulse of energy emanating from the adornment which caused his eyes to widen in shock and his lips to part though no words filled the still air. Looking down at the pendant, he reached up to cup it with one hand. What had felt like an empty vessel before now felt reinvigorated.]

Oh no! [He finally found a few words to utter as he fixated on the item. There was a reason the puzzle had been buried after he had crossed over into the afterlife, what did it mean if it's powers had been restored? The last thing Anastara needed was the emergence of shadow games.]

[Although he was not currently participating, the introduction of a new game hadn't escaped his notice. Atem watched with interest as a couple of players engaged in the activity.]

Does this mean that Fantastic Foils has been essentially replaced?

[For lack of a better term, that is. There was a glittering crystal about the size of a fist that the reprimand was directed at. The crime was the familiar was testing it's telekinetic strength on the recent arrivals. Capable of lifting up to 500 pounds of weight with it's mind alone, the crystal had taken to raising any and all that came into the vicinity up high into the air.

All except it's master of course. You know, so everyone would know who to blame.]
