August Activity Check


Welcome to the August activity check for Diatu Magicademy! A reminder of our rules:

  • You must provide one log thread with at least 5 comments from your character.

  • You must provide either an additional log thread with at least 5 comments from your character, or a network thread with at least 10 comments from your character.

  • If you have some activity during the month, but not enough to pass AC, you may request a strike. To clear the strike, you must provide double activity the subsequent month.

    Activity is valid for posts made between the close of applications in August and the close of applications in September -- so this month, any activity made between Wednesday, August 7th, and 8 PM Eastern time, Wednesday, September 4th.

    Activity must be submitted by Saturday, September 7 at 8 PM Eastern time.

    Also, as a reminder, the results of your Actions will be posted as a response to your activity check. If you haven't chosen any, you have until AC closes to do so.

    Oh snaaaap.

    1. Are there any other dragons on the area other than herself, Ire, and Spyro?

    2. Is there anyone who may be able to help her figure out how to harness and control her dragon soul?

    3. Why are the people here so wary about dragons?

    4. What happened to said other dragons? She assumes there was a time there were way more than just Ire.

    1. The ghost dragon which lurks in the caverns of Ascelion. Beyond that, if any dragons escaped the great purge seven hundred years ago, they have hidden themselves so well he has not seen the slightest hint of them. And he has looked, very thoroughly indeed.

    2. Given her unusual circumstances, Ire believes human magic ought to open up possibilities for her. He encourages her to study all the aspects as thoroughly as possible, though he regrets that complete control may not be feasible without grounding in what humans call the Curriculum of Dictation.

    3. For most of history, dragons enslaved humans and ruled over them with an iron claw. Humanity only escaped by managing to master magic and catching the dragons by surprise, and wizards generally concede that if not for that surprise, the rebellion would have failed. Even one dragon would be sufficient to enslave all of humanity once again.

    4. Humans killed them. Every single one. They believed, quite correctly in Ire's opinion, it was the only way to escape the bonds of slavery for good.

    Oh my god. Though I do have one question/clarification. Is it remotely possible to get to the caverns of Ascelion still currently or did those get blocked off?

    Both. The Magicademy accepts that the bigger the barrier it puts up to keep people out, the more attention and idiotic attempts to break it or overcome it such a barrier will incur. Consequently they have some fairly routine spells up and have just begged people PLEASE DON'T GO GET EATEN.

    SOMEONE HAS TO GO TELL THIS DRAGON OFF AND CLEARLY IT SHOULD BE ANOTHER KINDA DRAGON.
