March Activity Check Welcome to the March activity check for Diatu Magicademy! A reminder of our rules: You must provide one log thread with at least 5 comments from your character. An Item of Power(???): A Circle That Demonstrates Pi Is Exactly 3. Sho woke up one day to find a piece of paper on his bed with this circle on it. Every single calculation he can possibly perform on it returns a value for pi equal to precisely 3. Its existence occasionally causes reality itself to start openly weeping near it, resulting in soggy shoes and pants for Sho. If he attempts to destroy the paper, it duplicates instead. If he attempts to put the paper in a giant trash art pile, it consumes the trash like a black hole, then returns to him.

Sorry for getting back to this late! These are awesome results, and thank you for your time! In addition to picking NPCs, I have a quick question for each character.

For Louie's small business investment, is this an investment given with no questions ask, or is it the (I assume more likely) case that the Club will want to know what he's actually doing with their investment. Just because that will determine if this is more of a legitimate thing or more of a con.

For Kamala's log with an NPC, could I perhaps set that up in her IC inbox, or would it need to be on the main comm? I'm only looking to put it elsewhere because I don't want to flood the main community, and I also wanted to put up Kamala's log for her adventure soon!

The Catastrophe Cannon (Mastered)

Despite its name, the Catastrophe Cannon is more of wand with a grip like a crossbow, meant to be aimed and pointed. Small enough to be easily concealed, this (terribly illegal) item possesses the power to inflict a curse of bad luck on whosoever it is discharged towards. If the wielder is Lena, she may control both the degree of disaster inflicted upon the victim (slight to massive) and the general form that bad luck takes (e.g. tripping, trouble with bureaucracy, friendships or romance...) Any other wielder may not choose either. If used on the same person more than once in twenty-four hours, the second and further discharges become visible as a connection between the wielder and the victim, making their source obvious.

An Item of Power (on loan from from Professor Mala): The Familiar Connection. This book goes into detail on the underlying magic that binds a familiar and a wizard together. The nature of that bond will give Fluttershy additional insight into how human and animal brains may be linked to enable communication.

Rin's efforts at working with Professor Trammel have resulted in:

Regarding the egg: The Obsidian Egg hatches at the end of the month, producing a bird of flames as bright blue as Rin's, and about the size of a large eagle. Professor Trammel immediately identifies it as a Greater Phoenix. Unlike a normal phoenix, the Greater Phoenix is reborn into an egg instead of a hatchling body when it dies, and requires magical flame of some sort to hatch it again.

Hatched, the Greater Phoenix has supreme mastery over fire. It may create it, manipulate it, or douse it with no effort at all. It flies at incredible speed, and functions as if it has +3 additional Familiar Bond above whatever level Rin has raised it to.

However, its lifespan is quite short. At the end of the month, the Greater Phoenix will perish, leaving behind a new Obsidian Egg. From here on out, this pattern will repeat: one month dormant in an egg, one month hatching, one month in its full glory.

Hel's efforts to study the Infinity Cloth have resulted in the following upgrade:

Infinity Cloth (upgraded)

This small piece of cloth appears to be folded upon itself a few times, enough to easily fit in a pocket with plenty of room to spare. However, when you unfold it -- it still appears folded. Unfold it and unfold it and unfold it as you will, and there still seems to be more to unfold. You can choose to unfold it in only one direction to create a long, thin strip, or in all directions to make a wide covering. In either case, the cloth is almost impossible to rip, but incredibly easy to cut. Parts of the cloth severed from the main folds will immediately dissolve into nothingness, but the Infinity Cloth appears to have no limits to how much it can produce.

An object wrapped entirely in the Infinity Cloth will lose the vast majority of its weight, making it easy to carry no matter its size, shape, or ordinary mass.
