...okay so like if someone curses you, with, uh, being forever alone1 -- and words have a lot of magical weight where you're from but you're also not entirely sure the curse was successful...?
She's guessing they don't have much data on that kinda thing, huh.

In large part, the researchers believe this would be dependent on the source of power for the curse. If the magic is embedded within a person, it could but did not necessarily cross over. If it requires an environment or otherwise extrinsic source, it almost certainly cannot carry over.
