Name: Usagi Contact:usagisquared Timezone: EST About yourself: HELLO! I'm never 100% sure what to put in these things but! I'm an aspiring teacher (aspiring in the sense of aiming at the local program Aha), who presently subsists on the art of making grocery store salads...I have two very delightful cats hilariously enough, a small black cat and a partial maine coon, which makes the TDM great in hindsight...
I tend to plurk mostly for Game stuff- aside from Diatu here, I am also in Daybreak, and Ryslig! But I also plurk about some IRL things, and OCCASIONALLY...video games I've been playing. A lot of my fandoms are kind of 'hidden' fandoms outside of the YGO franchise, since I tend to only really talk about them if someone mentions them first...
ANYWAY. Noa's first game when I picked up the muse was actually a Really Old magicschool-focused game as well so I'm absolutely thrilled to be here, especially now that I've been running him more confidently for a while! I'm looking forward to playing with you all!
Character: Noa Kaiba House: Valhudor About: Noa is an interesting kid in that he's got the intellect of an 18 year old but the mental and physical state of a 12 year old- go figure being a computer for 6 years is just. BAD. For growth.
But it's okay, because now he's a Person again. To explain, Noa technically died when he was 12- his dad wasn't having it though, so he tried uploading him to a military super computer, making a virtual world for his kid to live in.
Etc etc, that dad was Gozaburo and go figure things eventually came to be that Gozaburo seemingly died, Seto took over Kaiba Corp, and Noa sort of looked at all this from a distance and thought it was totally BANANAS.
So he trapped Seto and a bunch of the YGO cast in the virtual world and had people duel (including....a penguin guy actually...) while taking out his anger on his stepbrother before figuring out that Maybe Being Nice is Good through various things mokuba it was mokuba...and also he ended up doing a heroic computer sacrifice while everyone escaped.
And they never spoke of him again....
The point is, he kind of thought he was going to be dead (again)? And now he's really not, so he's simultaneously decided this is Really Awesome and Really Weird.
He's just going to hyperfixate on the Really Awesome and enjoy things like Eating Food, and Reading Physical Books for now though. (Someone let him try coffee he'll hate it it's going to be great)
IN ANY CASE, Noa isn't exactly...malicious so much as just really prone to spite, and for that matter didn't grow in a situation where he interacted with anyone beyond his dad and his tutors- so on the one hand, WOW, SECOND CHANCE AT LIFE! NEW INFORMATION HE HAS NEVER SEEN! (he really likes learning stuff)
On the other how does one INTERACT with people??? it's probably magic
Hopefully being in musical illusions house will help him figure that out. Or at least, be subjected to people Making Him Figure It Out
CR Goals:fambly Aside from obvious cast shenanigans (Noa is more than Slightly nervous for good 'Former Antagonist' reasons), Noa just in generally doesn't entirely...grasp the concept of how FRIENDS work, so it'll be interesting to see how that plays out here. Over all I'm looking forward to working with all the potential that sits in Noa reconnecting with a lot of what makes life...'LIFE', which honestly he didn't super have in his actual life either.
Also: MUSIC THINGS. N E R D THINGS. PENGUIN THINGS he has an Emperor Penguin familiar who is the Emperor of Penguins i love this,
All of these things are important, let's go,
Notes: Noa is 4'8'' but Emperor Penguins can be 4'3'' so when Adelai is in his palanquin he will be TALLER, technically- (But mostly this just makes things amusing because Noa isn't even half a foot taller than his familiar Ah-ha-Haaaaaa excellent)
oh and uh also i guess this is my moment to throw penguin triva everywhere i'm sorry
Man that dying and coming back is just a kick in the pants, isn't it?
Luckily for Noa Yotsuyu likes children and his apparent age will work in his favor. I also have a dorky rock boy and if she gets in, Noa met Isabel in the TDM! :)
You know I didn't realize how weird it is that Noa and Seto look alike despite not being biologically related at all until this very moment.
Anyway, welcome! I am very excited to see all the fun Noa and his penguin get up to, and Seto's still awkward as hell about all of this, but he's learning how to people too, even though his challenges are different. They'll figure this out.
Honestly I very often wonder if Anime-verse Gozaburo adopted Seto partly because of that resemblance and Boy what a barrel of worms that would be-
(in his other game we had a Seto Rosenkreuz for a hot minute and Noa eventually came to the conclusion that somehow, someway, that man's genes were why they looked so similar despite having Numerous degrees of separation pfffftttt)
Nothing says family like awkwardly figuring out how to handle the other's existence, but hey, they're smart. Figuring it out is....Probably going to happen...
Welcome to the game Usagi! I'm excited to see another member of the ygo cast, also I'm super curious as to what other " Really Old magicschool-focused game"you were referring to. I mean there have been a ton of magical school games I'm sure, but I have been in a few so..... YES. ALL MY CURIOUS.
V maybe. Sho.... decided the way to stop an old man from being annoying with his gong was to kill him. He's also threatened to kill multiple students already.
And yes, he and Xion are going to be all kinds of fun in game.
I HONESTLY CAN'T COMPLETELY RECALL...It might have been Magicdrafted??? (I know I had SOMEONE there...)
Anyway! I'm pretty excited myself! It was already great to see a Seto, but to see an Atem (and a Yugi for that matter) as well was pretty much what cemented my decision to work on the app haha!
It must have been a while back like you said then. I'm not familiar with a magicdrafted. I was in Squarewarts (a Hp/FF based magical school).
I hope it'll be a lot of fun for you here with all the family and cast shenanigans! Atem might not know how to take you at first Noa, for reasons, but I think it'll work out alright!
Greetings from yet another former antagonist who died (sorta) and came back! Also the only one currently in game with hair crazy enough to rival Yami and Yugi's. :3
I expect it'll be interesting to see how these two interacting plays out. :3
Name: Muffin Contact:tinymuffin84 and Discord on request! Timezone: CST About yourself: Me? I'm an idjit. I'm down for snuggles any time and I have a weakness for kittens. RP wise, I have only one other character active in anything, though a friend is threatening to wake a third muse of mine up. So! This isn't my first rodeo with RP, though it is my first rodeo with this game in particular. I have high hopes for it, since what it seems to do lines up a good bit with what I had hoped to accomplish with Kuja, namely giving him a place to settle down and try to sort himself out after the events of Final Fantasy 9 and then Dissidia, now that he has his full array of memories back. He never really got that chance after FF9 and before the crap in Dissidia.
Anyway! I'm almost always around. I do have a Discord and I'll be happy to nudge that at people if you want. Too many spam bots for me to put it out there at random though. Looking forward to it all here!
Character:Kuja House: Ka About: Kuja is a high class priss who was created as a "perfect being" with unimaginable power who thought he could never die. He was sent from his home world to speed the process of death on another to revive his own world by funneling souls to it. As you can imagine, he wasn't particularly loved, but he didn't really care. He was created as a fully functional adult, so he never had that critical stage of emotional development children go through. He doesn't understand some social concepts because of this, and even after everything that happened to him in the events of FF9 and Dissidia, he still struggles. These things aren't easy for him to learn, and so he's prone to going back to things that are comfortable to him, like isolation and pride and anger. Still, he can be quite polite and charming in the right circumstances. He was very wealthy back home and learned to behave like a spoiled adult at best
That said, while he is likely going to be extremely difficult to like, he was forced to come to terms with his mortality within a very sort time, uprooting his world completely. Add onto that the fact that even at his prime, he was beaten down by someone he considered far weaker than he was and, well... Let's just say it was an eye opener for him. He's a changed person, and none of this has been easy for him, but he didn't have long to consider it.
For headcanon purposes, after the end of FF9, where Zidane curls over Kuja to protect him from the Iifa Tree's assault, they were trapped there until Kuja used the last of his strength to throw one more Flare Star and destroy the roots, thus freeing Zidane and allowing him to escape. He has no memory of his death beyond this.
Then comes the events of Dissidia, where he was yanked with others into another world and forced to fight without end, without rest. While each battle slowly brought back his memories, he had to contend with the warriors brought into the world like him (the "bad" guys from various Final Fantasy games, summoned by the god Chaos) - none of them were friendly toward each other and really, among this group, it was more of a begrudging alliance. As the battles waged on and he remembered more and more, Kuja became less and less willing to fight, until at last he actively sought out Zidane to try and help him end the war by turning on the god who brought the warriors of Chaos over.
Welp. tl;dr, that didn't work out. One of the warriors of Chaos got wind of what he was doing and forced him to betray Zidane. A little while later, this same punk killed him and shoved false memories in his head, turning Kuja back into a jerk until he was defeated again and started to remember what he'd lost. All the while, he was teased and bullied among the warriors of Chaos for being young and relatively new to the evil bad guy nasty plottery game. I mean, who needs that, right?
Fast forward to the next world over, after Cosmos (good guys' summoning goddess) is killed, and now Kuja finds himself dealing with a similar situation, where he and Zidane and the people they knew from the first Dissidia or two are forced to fight again. This time, Kuja remembers everything, and he strikes out on his own to help Zidane out. He's a little aloof though, and claims not to care about this whole hero business. Why should he need others if he's strong enough to stand on his own? In the end, it turns out, he and everyone else are forced to work together to save that world AND themselves, and once they defeat the cause of the world's destruction, they're finally, FINALLY sent home.
... And this is where Kuja's story in Diatu begins. tl;dr FOR REAL, he's a reformed bad guy who's struggling with the concepts of friendship and needing others, he's hella prideful and he's hella good looking and he is/was hella powerful and good at what he did. But now he has no powers and he's gonna struggle to come to terms with that.
CR Goals: If you got through his About section, or even if you're just familiar with Final Fantasy 9 and Dissidia, you know Kuja is going to have a lot of work ahead of him, but he's very resistant to it all. He has spent all 24 years of his life relying on himself, working for his own goals in secret, looking after himself. While he wasn't the most nurturing in many ways, he survived. He grew stronger.
What this means is that he's going to be hard to befriend, even if he is a gentleman and charismatic, but this is what I hope he'll find here. He wants to know what it was that overpowered him in the end, what Zidane has that he doesn't, and he wants to understand it even if he's been quick to give up or turn away from it. He never has had an opportunity to have to rely on someone else, short of the final battle in Dissidia NT, and Diatu can offer him that. He'll be made to start over again, to work from the ground up, and I'm hoping, with the right nudging and the right circumstances, he'll come to learn what he was denied and have that second chance he doesn't believe he deserves.
Notes: Don't touch his tail. No, seriously. Please don't. He will be angry. He's very sensitive about it.
