OOC October Event Lot Plot

The October Event Log saw a bunch of magic users open a portal into Hell to call out a horde of imps onto campus to attack and distract the students. Some one needs to close that portal. With their limited knowledge of this world's magic this can be best done from the other side which means once the portal is closed a bunch of your fellow students will be trapped on the other side in Hell.

Here's where you come in. You can sign your character up to be one of the portal closers which means they would end up trapped in Hell with the others. Or you can later work together with those left behind at the school to save those trapped in Hell. A log will be going up for this in a couple of days but y'all can sign up to be one or the other, plot ideas, brainstorm ways to reopen the portal without letting all the imps back in, work on a mass summoning, ect. Everyone is welcome!

SO, I have a full list of what Loki can do in his journal. Magic native to Diatu's world is still not his strongest forte, though he's extremely competent in basic Sundering/Discovery/Thaumaturgy. (He's been a dedicated student and learns things relatively quickly). Just to help with the portal-closers.

He'd point out that the easiest way to close the portal would be to kill the casters (which he has no problem with doing, morally). He's a skilled illusionist with his own magic, able to create duplicates of himself or project various illusions that can move somewhat/distract. He's baseline-superhuman, and a genius-level intellect. Frost Giants in MCU don't SEEM to have an inherent weakness to heat, but depending on the kind of Hell we're going to, he might get sapped of energy more quickly since he's a Frost giant. He's also arrogant, although he hasn't had reason to be antagonistic yet to anyone in Diatu among his fellow students. (On the contrary, he actually appreciates Crowley and Beej's chaotic tendencies.)

I also do apologize in advance--depending on how things go, Loki might end up turn-coat to try and get in better with the opposing forces. It depends on if it's advantageous. Now, he IS the Loki who was starting to redeem himself so this isn't as likely--or if he does, it's likely he'll try to be a reverse mole--aka in good with the opposing forces to stop them. But I'm going to see how this all goes. Basically talk with me b/c I'm flexible.

Keeping this brief because I'm on mobile at work:

Aziraphale threw all his skill points into Sundering last time 2019 when he was here because he tried to summon Crowley (in Oct, ironically). So he is absolutely down for trying his hand at summoning Crowley again.

Alternatively he could maybe, idk, use Sundering Crowley as a way of locating the others, beacon Crowley or something idk if it can work like that.

He's also skilled with glyphs to try and keep the bad stuff from coming out with our heroes.

Honestly he will try to Sunder Crowley here whether anyone else is gonna help or not.

Questions/ plotting ideas? I will be getting lunch in a bit here

How would that work exactly? Like would he only grab Crowley's soul so Aziraphale ends up speaking in tongues like when he borrowed Madam Tracy's body until Crowley is sent back to his own body or something more like Crowley ends up in Aziraphale's body in school and Aziraphale becomes Crowley in Hell?

The way I handled it last time, for all I did anything with it, was the latter, full body swap: Crowley as Aziraphale in school, Aziraphale wherever Crowley is.

Which could be great if they need to transmit a message to the group in Hell, but then that puts the angel in Hell looking sus having to explain who he is and what he’s done with the real Crowley. The lucky thing is, the group would still have Alec so ...Alec could probably figure out what happened or verify him pretty fast.

In school would be easy. Aziraphale would explain how it backfired last time and whether that was his end goal this time or not, prepare Harry or someone with the info of what happened and why, for Crowley specifically, since this Crowley has never body swapped before.

El's got healing magic if y'all need a healer. Light/life/barrier magic, he's a good guiding protector type.

Not much use in opening a portal though.

Rescuer Skills

Here is a rundown of skills my pups will be bringing to the plate:

* Harry’s got an extensive skill set from six years in Hogwarts and his months long stay in Avalon. These include defensive magic, charms, most Dark Arts spells (though he uses them for a noble cause), duelling, teleportation, telekinesis, speed manipulation, and elemental magic (he has fire and ice magic upon arriving in Diatu and will be gaining electricity during the event).

In addition, he is also learning Thaumaturgy, Glyphics, and Discovery for some time, so he will put them into good use. He may or may not singe plenty of imps by ‘accident’ upon gaining electricity magic.

* Lena is slowly getting the hang of her Discovery magic, so she will defending the students with fire, water, wind, and ice related spells in the Discovery school.

Crowley has not been the most studious of students when it comes to learning the magic of this world. He has picked up the magical language pretty well but the spells... well, they seem a bit silly really considering what he could back home. So he won't be a great deal of help on that.

He can however help with any hellfire management or guiding through Hell those trapped on the other side of the portal might need. Also as Aziraphale said above, maybe Crowley could be summoned for messenger service or to help tell the rescuers where the others are so their rescue plans had a better way to pinpoint those still trapped.

Will those trapped in **** be able to use UG powers? I mean, Sho falling through and being mistaken for a helper is hilarious enough that he's in either way. But if he could use his reaper powers while there.... all the better!

Mal has some experience with barriers and may be able to help from the school side.

No idea what UG powers are but I'd think if you can use them in game now you would still be able to there.

I would have to ask the mods...

Basically his powers don't work in game because in his world there are multiple "layers" the RG is the real world, and Diatu is set in an RG. As a reaper, his powers are reduced in the RG.

The UG is where the dead can act and interact. He'd have his full powers there, including summoning monsters called Noise that can possess the living with negative emotions and can kill the dead in the UG with him. The mods are, I believe, canon familiar.

You would have to ask the mods yourself. A group of players were all plotting together in one of my plurks but there is no mod discussion post anywhere. I was given the ok for the idea via a plurk ping by the mods.
