Well, surprise to us! We didn't expect to turn over 25 applications in 25 hours, yet here we are! To our new characters, welcome back! To our returning characters, why the heck is Valhudor so overrepresented among you
When Does It Open?
NOW.
We'll have an actual event log in the beginning of August proper, but if you want to start making open posts or getting into trouble, go for it!
Is The TDM Canon?
Absolutely, if you want it to be.
This Month In Diatu
Hail becomes a concern around this time, thanks to some peculiarity of air currents and ocean evaporation up here on the floating island. Luckily, hailstorms are brief when they appear, but inevitably sudden and fierce for their short lives. Woe be unto the student who fails to protect themselves with a suitable shield when they spend any time out of doors!
Professor Ire has been the victim of mean-spirited but harmless pranks that truly represent just how harmless he is, considering the capabilities he surely has to address such pranking. In fact, the student body seems to be very slowly coalescing into pro-Ire and anti-Ire factions.
Bala-inlota Tryouts begin once classes are in swing. You may or may not be entered into them voluntarily; Captain Lominia is not exactly known for respecting consent when it comes to her student teams. Older students might trade or sell you the location of good places to hide from her.
This Month In Anastara
A Sphinx In Training has set up shop down by the docks, laying out on a large comfortable rug and challenging passers-by to riddle contests. None of the riddles are terribly original; the Sphinx explains she is more interested in studying the body language of her victims than in defeating them. She also promises she won't eat you if you get the riddles wrong, and thus far, no one has appeared to claim she has eaten them. On the other hand, she occasionally veers out of the acceptable sorts of riddles to launch scavenger hunts and quirky challenges, in order to see just what people will do under the guise of a riddle contest.
Adventures
As detailed on our Adventures page, you may sign up for an adventure by responding to the appropriate comment on this post. We will respond with your adventure setups as time and creative energy allow.
We can't wait to see you all subject yourselves to our whims WE MEAN start playing in our completely harmless and not-character-scarring game. Enjoy your RP!
One fine morning, Seto's familiar delivers to him a package marked "Anastara War Games Association". Should he open it, inside is an absolutely fantastic white coat! It has deep pockets on the outside, shallow ones on the inside the perfect size for a deck, and an enchantment that makes it billow out from his legs dramatically at all times!
Unfortunately, once he puts it on, it immediately collapses into a radiant blue ballgown. On the plus side, it flatters his figure immensely; on the minus, he really doesn't have the chest to fill it out. We recommend stuffing.
Naturally, the dress is cursed and cannot be removed easily, and if other clothing is worn over it, it itches fiercely. Good luck!
In accordance with our new handling of adventures, we'd like to ask: would you prefer High, Medium, or Low mod involvement with this adventure as of now?
The challenge is simple: traverse ten pubs in one hour, enjoying three drinks at each one.
It IS possible. It has been done. But only rarely. Students tell of their efforts to plot out the perfect route, planning their venture down to the microsecond, only to have a slow bartender or a stray cat in an alley cost them precious moments. Wizards have attempted to shoot through the challenge with the aid of their spells, which turns out exactly how you'd expect once they're about nine drinks in.
But the reward? A free drink a night at every pub you visit, fame in Anastara, and a not-insignificant purse of money...
"In all my years, never have I seen the breath of a flower," the Sphinx says, watching you closely. In other words, bring her that to solve her alleged riddle.
Although we're not certain what more we can do for a simple riddle, nonetheless if you want additional mod involvement or to let us know when the adventure is completed, please reply here!
Rumors have spread, half-accurate and cruel: the Sundered are the tools of a dragon! They're here to enslave us all! They have three heads and breathe fire!
So there you are, one night in Anastara, with a mob on your trail. They have pitchforks, torches, a sponsorship from Anastara Riots and Social Upheaval Co., and enough alcohol in them to make them forget that the alleged fire-breathing thing would turn out badly for them if true. Can you and your companions escape?
Sho:
A trickle of water is following you. Across campus, sloshing through the grass or trailing down the paths. Into your room, dampening your floor and soaking your socks. Into class, getting you into no small amount of trouble. Whatever you do and wherever you go, there it is, ruining your day. Looks like you've got some work to do to figure this one out!
