About: Stuck-up and slightly egomaniacal rival who once doubted the very existence of magic, somewhat learned to take a chill pill during his previous stay. He's had ups and downs and is currently a little closed-off once more due to circumstances, but he can be reached again. Preferably over a game.
CR Goals: He needs two things:
1. to be taken down a peg or two
2. to open up to people, again.
First goal might be easier than the second, but he tends to be somewhat gentler with kids, people who prove their genius, and people who prove they understand why some people might not be on the 'ra ra friendship' bandwagon right away. He's not impossible to reach, just cranky.
Notes: Kaiba was a student during the previous run of the game and stayed, so he knows a bit about the outbreak of the dragon war. And the associated card game! He's cynical but doesn't want to see anyone explode. Also, he has a permissions/opt-out post here

About: Sunset is a magical unicorn who became a (sort of) magical human girl when she walked through a mirror. She's a former queen bee type villain, and still has a temper, but now she's mostly loving and lets her natural curiosity run free.
CR Goals: More friends to study magic with? Many of her previous friends have left, so she's starting again. She's very curious about how magic works and will be heavily involved in exploring things she probably shouldn't!
Notes: She once again has access to her touch telepathy, and I have a permissions post related to that here. Please take a look/let me know if you want to plot with that! She'll take care to avoid accidentally using that power. That post also doubles as her general opt-out, if you don't want her to tag your characters at all.

Della and Seto never got to interact much in FT and that bummed me out, but here we have a clean slate to try again! I'm really curious to see how they interact, considering Della not only has a business tycoon uncle but also a son who wants to be one, too. (Not to mention the fact that Louie and Seto had CR back in Diatu's first run, so that could be fun to play with!)

And I commented on Sunset's permission post for telepathy stuff! I'd like to see these two interact as well, even if I have less specific thoughts there.

About: If you are in Valhudor for any length of time, you will probably hear of a famous Sundered who performs out in the city at small restaurants and local events. That would be Tenn, formerly an idol from Tokyo, now becoming a new big hit in Anastara! That said, the charming presence he has on stage is very different than his stern attitude on campus. (Don't let that scare you; he is actually nice!) He is majoring in Fantastics with a side of Discovery.

CR Goals: He'll connect with other performers (show them the good spots in town and give Fantastic pointers). He's weak to kids and animals and will want to be a good big brother and make sure they're doing okay. The whole incident with the dragons has been heavy on his mind, so he'll be studying the kingdoms' history and magic in more detail - I'll rearrange his classes a bit to include those. Study and exploration buddies are always welcome!

About: Loki is the (adopted) brother of Thor and son of Odin and Frigga, of Asgard. The Norse knew him as the God of Mischief from when Asgardians visited Midgard (Earth) centuries ago. He's been through some traumatic times in the last few years including such fine events as finding out he's really the monster parents tell their children about at night, trying to wipe out Jotunheim, leading a failed invasion to conquer Earth, and starting Ragnarok to destroy Asgard. (That last one? Not his idea.) Add in some family squabbles (what's a little backstabbing here and there?) that are only now starting to get resolved, and then a meeting with the Mad Titan Thanos. Which didn't go so well for him.

He can be very charming and personable, but ultimately the only side he's ever truly on is his own. His relationship with his brother Thor was mending, and Loki has gone from Antagonistic Villain to Antagonistic Anti-hero. But he's done terrible things, and can and would do them again if he feels its necessary. Handle with care.

CR Goals: Honestly I very much want him to actually get real, true friends. I'm hoping to grow him more fully into the anti-hero we see him become by the end of his time in the MCU. He might go kicking and screaming into that, but I'm here for the development of character. Teach him the power of friendship!

Loki character development is something I'm here for! Della is persistently friendly, so it'll be interesting to see how their CR goes... Especially since one of Della's best friends in canon is Selene, goddess of the moon... In the Greek pantheon, of course, but Norse mythology does come into play in the DuckTales reboot. Not Loki himself, but uh, in Della's canon, Ragnarok is a wrestling tournament between Norse heroes/deities and mortals.

Yeah, this'll be fun.

About: Crowley is a demon who was sent up to Earth to cause some trouble. He got a few humans to eat an apple, they were evicted from the garden and he made friends with the garden's Guardian angel. Over the centuries he has grown quite fond of humans and all they can create even if they often use their talents to be cruel to each other. He is coming in right after breaking up a centuries long friendship with Aziraphale. Though they both really wanted to stop it, they had different opinions on the best way to handle the end of the world.
CR Goals: For the moment just meeting the other students and getting used to a style of magic he had long since given up on.
Notes: This will be Crowley's first taste of school life and I imagine he will struggle with it initially, not because he isn't clever but because he has become used to doing things his way. Also he has been gifted a magic opposite what he thinks he is capable of.

Character: Aziraphale temptationaccomplished

About: Aziraphale is the angelic counterpart to the demon Crowley.
In their canon, the two have known each other since Eden, are best friends who cannot admit they're best friends because they're on opposite sides, but they team up anyway to try an stop the antichrist from ending the world. Without giving out spoilers, Aziraphale is from the end of canon. His normal abilities include performing miracles, which range in value but are often used to better the world in little ways... or to make the world a little less inconvenient for himself.

He visited Diatu before, and is also from two other places as well: Tramitem, an au which made him human for a time with memory-loss shenanigans to boot, and Avalon, another world that granted magic, thus he comes in with some built in CR.

CR Goals: I'd really like to expand his CR and give him more experiences with people, get him out of his comfort zone, even though he's been pushed out of that many times over. Aziraphale and Crowley have a tendency have eyes for only each other, and I'd love to give him more people with significance to him, however that may be. He's had a frienemy before, and I wouldn't mind giving him one again.
Notes: I'm sure there's something else I can say about this bastard of an angel, but please feel free to ask any questions or anything!

About: Erik comes from a land of ice and snow... and a game with a lot of puns. The thief of the party and a good friend to the hero, Eleven, Erik is kind of a smartass, but he'll be a loyal teammate no matter what. He's fairly fresh off a development in the plot that has made him all the more interested in protecting his teammates from harm, so if you want to help him train up his magic, he's particularly gung ho. In canon, he uses knives, swords, and boomerangs, and in Diatu he has been given an item called the Spinnyrang which is basically the ultimate boomerang. He's gonna love it.
CR Goals: Someone to work on magic with. People to adopt as teammates. Maybe someone to bicker with.

About: So... first thing to know is he is dead. He's a Reaper, with command over a type of creature called the Noise. And with canon powers unlocked... um.... >.> YEAH. So that's a thing. Noise cannot be seen or heard by the living but can delete the dead and can cause depression an anger in the living. He can also create Taboo Noise which also attacks Reapers.

You probably also want to know that he is an absolute math geek who speaks in mathematical phrases seemingly randomly. He also loves "art" by which he mostly means huge trash sculptures that he builds to tower over people.

Oh, and he can also Transform.

He teaches Maths, Art, and P.E. Have fun kids.
CR Goals: All the glorious negative CR, please! Minamimoto is... NOT NICE. He is not out to make friends. He didn't make any last time he was here, though he is sure that ghost dragon adored him and belonged to him. Some of you might remember that ghost dragon. He sure does!

Character: Mal

About: Mal is from the multimedia Disney series called Descendants or Isle Of the Lost depending on the medium. (We do not talk about Wicked World if we can avoid it, and mostly just use that for music.) She was raised to be evil, was sent to the land of the good to steal a magic wand, decided to try being good, figured she failed at that and decided to be evil again. By cutting herself off from the good people so she wouldn't hurt them. She... is not as evil as she likes to think she is.

Then she wound up in another world where she had to be a princess and help save all the worlds from a spreading darkness. She claimed she was doing it so she could conquer the world after.

So yeah, she'll play up being evil, will try to be evil, will think she's evil. But there is that core of goodness in her that just won't die no matter how many times she tries to kill it.
CR Goals: She needs more people who sees her as she is, a mix of good and evil. A person. Basically. She can't see it herself. She needs friends she can be loyal to who are loyal to her. She thinks she wants a crew. She really just misses having a tight knot group of friends.

Negative CR is also welcome, and I am always willing to plot! She will try to put out a seeming of being the bad girl.

As I put in her app: Mal is a bit of an odd student. On the one hand she would seem not to care, like she doesn't try. She shows up late - though she intends to use bullying to make sure "her" seat is saved for her (a good seat with a good view of whatever needs to be seen in that class, be it a board or a demonstration area). She seems to be doodling through class, seems not to be paying attention.

But on the other side of it, she is actually paying attention and if called on will generally know the answer if a student reasonably could. She might give it (probably will give it) with attitude... but she is paying attention. She also will have read ahead in any book not spelled against that, and is taking every class she can related to magic. Her homework and exams will all be turned in covered in lovely doodles, generally of wands and weapons.

Basically she's trying to build a rep for being the troubled student, the bad girl, but also genuinely wants to learn. And not just to keep from exploding. She just doesn't want anyone to realize she wants to learn. This only applies to magic class, any of the non magical classes she will probably cut more often than she intends and will genuinely not be paying attention. (Though she is a bright girl, and might get answers right anyway.)

If she gets good grades, she will be implying to the other students that it is because the teachers are afraid of her. "Well, if you were a teacher and didn't want to spend another hour as a frog, you'd probably give me an A too," said with a shrug. That sort of thing. She'll also often take "credit" for pranks that aren't her fault if no one else steps up, because she wants the bad girl rep. She'd rather get it through implication and lies than actually being overly destructive, but she will if she has to.

Also some of her "mistakes" in class will be disruptive. Were they intentional, or did she actually get it wrong? Since it will be some of each, it will generally be hard to tell.
Notes: Mal is CRAU from SMK and may remember some characters who do not know her; if you do not want her to recognize your character, please poke me and we can discuss how to resolve things!

About: HEY LOOK, IT'S A baby DRAGON, YO. He's nice, but will not hesitate on setting someone's pants on fire with a good enough reason.

CR Goals: Lots of getting back into the loop, making his magic stronger, reconnecting with old friends, finding new pals, and using his brand new magic mirror for taking on a human guise or his "adult" form every so often. Nothing can go wrong with that last one.

Notes: So Spyro is one of those who actually went poof for a second during that Three Dragon War thing. Sucks for him to be out of the loop and ripped away in the middle of his convo with a him-sized Ire.

Because otherwise, history should've called it the FOUR Dragon War.

About: Gobo's a Fraggle, a small (~2 feet tall) species known for music and magic, and magic with music. Don't mistake his fluffy exterior for someone simple, though. He's a leader, who's led friend and stranger alike through many dangerous and/or deadly situations, some of which he caused himself. He's introspective, sharp, and somewhat moody, but no matter how tough the time is, at the end of the day he's a loyal friend.

Oh, and he has an inexplicable Canadian accent. So there's that.
CR Goals: At the moment, just getting him learning about above ground. Fraggles live in a series of tunnels and caverns, with little to no knowledge of "Outer Space" or the realm of humans, barring the travels of Gobo's Uncle Matt. ...who is misguided at best. So, just having him expand his horizons and see where that goes, is what I'm doing with him first here.

About: Harry is an hapless angsty teenager with magic, PTSD & depression, and bad luck, a walking trouble magnet, has the people saving thing and chronic hero syndrome, he is genuinely kind and loyal unless you dare to tick him off. Also he’s a nosy little sneak, along with being CRAU’ed thanks to the Isle of Avalon.
CR Goals: Friends, Parent figures, Frenemies! People who would try to stop him from being a reckless idiot. I'm cool with romance as long as it doesn't involve huge age gaps, plus he is currently hung up with whatever little feelings he has for Ginny left in the mean time. He will also defend kids and teens younger than him like a big brother.
Notes: If anyone recognizes him from SMK, I’m sorry: he doesn’t have any memories from the Magic Kingdoms these days.

About: Lena is the oldest member and the shy beautiful / artistic one of the Septembers, a group of four girls whose mothers met in a pregnant mothers aerobics class. Despite their mothers losing contact with each other, she and her friends Tibby, Carmen, and Bridget grew closer over the years. One summer, they have to spend their summer break apart for the first time (Lena’s case has her family going to Santorini, Greece to visit relatives) when she and Carmen found a pair of jeans that fits the four girls’ different bodies and they agree to share the Pants and write about how their summers went to.

During her Greece trip, she meets one Kostos Dounas whom she immediately disliked due to her biased opinions on boys and thinking that he was only at her as just a pretty girl and him accidentally seeing her skinny-dipping in an olive nearly destroyed their grandparents’ friendship (which got lost in the film). Eventually, Lena realized what an idiot she was in judging Kostos once she learns more about him and eventually reconciles with her grandparents when they acknowledged that it was a misunderstanding. Now Lena was supposed to apologize to and confess her feelings to Kostos when, all the sudden, she gets dropped into Diatu’s arrival lobby. Also she is based on Artemis, the Greek virgin goddess of the hunt and moon, intentionally by Ann Brashares herself.

CR Goals: Please send in more people for Lena to break out of her shell with. If anyone is interested, I wouldn’t mind having Lena to date somebody else as long as they’re within her age group, her current canon point being moments away from confessing her feelings to Kostos.
Notes: While the Lena I am using is from the books, I’m also using Alexis Blendel as her PB since she played Lena in the films. Please just pretend that Alexis has tan skin, black hair, and celery green eyes.

About: He's a 911 operator from LA with recently discovered magical powers. In his world, only people with magic can see magic: they call it "Side B". For some reason he has VERY bad amnesia that his mind filled with pop culture scenes, and his powers are stronger than he can control. Good thing Diatu dulls them down...
CR Goals: Make friends! Be a little less of an awkward turtle, and learn to control his magic. He's pretty hard to tick off, but if someone does manage to make some negative CR I'm not averse to it!
Notes: I took him from mid-canon since the podcast just wrapped season 1. I'm working on transcripts for fans who can't do audio, so expect those to show up in his journal! Also, he's voiced by Rhett from Good Mythical Morning but described very close to an 80s Kiefer Sutherland, so I'll be using a lot of The Lost Boys for his icons until I can draw some.

About: In Ancient Egypt in one of the many versions of Earth that likely exist in this game, Atem was a pharaoh. His reign was short but his legacy great since he essentially sacrificed himself and any hope of getting into the afterlife to prevent a monster that was basically the embodiment of hatred and rage from destroying everything. Ok, so his legacy wasn't all that great because he had to use his name to seal away this evil and his own soul ended up locked inside the Millennium puzzle.. but he did a good thing. Then 5000 years later when the puzzle was solved he had a wicked case of amnesia, had to go on a journey to find himself, save the world again, and then he could cross over. So he's here in Diatu post-adventures, and post-demise. (It gets more complicated than this but you get the jist)
CR Goals: It would be nice to build on some older cr, meet back up with everyone, and build new. I'm fine with positive and negative cr, give it all to me for the variety!
Notes: Atem loves playing games of like.. any type. He has two familiars, one that looks likes a floating crystal, Capricius Crystallius, and one that looks like a golden falcon, the Millennium Falcon, whom he calls Horus. Also, thanks to canon powers being restored... he'll just.. try not to use them but there is shadow game potential!

About: Ok, this gets weird. Marisol actually used to be a relatively youthful planet (named Jaevri), who met an untimely end when she was struck by a comet. The sentient part of her was collected and given a form of her choosing until she could recuperate and relearn her powers in order to take to the heavens again. She doesn't advertise this past and she is actually reluctant to return to that existence so soon... but she's still struggling to figure out what sort of person she should be and likes to come up with fanciful tales to pad her lack of experience. Many of these are derived from what she witnessed occurring with her inhabitants.
CR Goals: I'm up for anything! It would be fun for someone to catch her in a lie as her stories likely won't match up, but for the most part I don't have anything specific in mind.
Notes: Marisol is both naïve and mischievous, she enjoys playing tricks on others. Oh! And she can manipulate minerals and ground substances with her geologic modification.

Also Atem can totally ride a horse, and engage in swordplay.

Okay, okay, she's not that bad unless you give her a reason to be. But she is a person who grew up with literally no security in her life and having to always watch every angle of herself because she can count on two and a half fingers how many people in her life she could trust. She absolutely doesn't apply herself and the only reason she's sticking around is to get her three square a day.
CR Goals: Someone please convince her to go to class. She's gonna need a tutor (or four). In general, she will take a shine to anyone who has what she considers a good taste in music (basically as long as it's not country or EDM I'll make it work out), or anyone who's a class cutter/doesn't dig the system man.
Notes: Generally if she feels she couldn't take a man on in a fight she will be uncomfortable around them - this won't be too hard to overcome but please don't be offended by this. Where she's from is incredibly dangerous for orphan girls.

About: Maria's one complicated girl, having come as a setting OC from a game based in the Final Fantasy VIII world. Which means she's an elite mercenary (a SeeD), wields two gunblades, uses paramagic, has several Guardian Forces sharing memory space with her, and is pretty arrogant about all of that. But also a decent and helpful person who just happens to think the world revolves around her. She's pretty convinced she's the protagonist of the story, after all.
CR Goals: Nothing terribly specific! Maria needs friends, people to challenge her especially, and people to help mellow her just a little.

About: He's prettysexy and he knows it, and he's everything you remember from FF9 and Dissidia. Still enjoys the finer things in life, still carries himself as if he lived among royalty again. But he's not quite the same. His sadistic side has muted itself greatly after those games, but he can still sass you a beatin if you do him wrong. He's still struggling with human bonding and tends to just ignore it to rely on himself for anything and everything. He's a good time all around.
CR Goals: Friends. Actual friends. He's still working his way around his emotional issues even if he would rather shut it all aside, but he needs people to help him bring that out. He couldn't learn on his own back in the day and he won't now. I'm hoping he'll be able to bond with one or two someones on friendship level who will allow him to feel safe enough to open his book to them. There is already a certain someone who is near to that point, but I'd like him to learn to relax with more than the one.
Notes: He was here before the game shut down, and he'll be bringing back his memories of those days with him, so he'll know a few of you already. Important to note! He already has relaxed his ideas and feels about the idea of having friends (barely) after his stint in the Dissidia series, and after his time in Diatu previously, that loosened him up even more (hardly). All of this means to say he's a little more genuine in his interest in people beyond societal forces of habit from his days as a high class heathen in FF9, but he can still be a priss, so there's that.
