That would have been a very un-angelic thing to suggest, since forgiveness was something that ought to be encouraged. Ultimately, he decided Crowley was a free enough thinker, rarely felt obligated to do anything because it was expected, and certainly didn't need Aziraphale's suggestions on what he should or shouldn't do.
Besides, he very much wanted forgiveness. He wanted to be back in Crowley's good graces. Or bad graces. Or not-graces, however it may be.
