Hope Estheim | Final Fantasy XIII

Airship

[Hope stood on the deck of the airship, having given up on finding any familiar faces at this time. He gazed out into the open air, taking in the sights of this other world. While he was fascinated, much like he had been when traversing Gran Pulse, he was distracted by the matter at hand and no one around him to help take his mind off of it like before. He went from being a l'Cie to a Sundered. If it wasn't one thing, it was another.

He sighed heavily, resting his arms on the railings. He covered the brand on his arm, his thumb idling stroking it. It was all very confusing right now. What was going on back home? Did they save Cocoon? He wanted to believe they did. But he had been in stasis prior to his arrival here. Upon awakening, he merely learned that while he no longer seemed to have his powers, he gained new ones instead. New ones that needed to be tamed before he self-destructed.]

I think this ticking time-bomb can be stopped.

[It was said without much emotion, however. He wanted to remain positive and, dare he say it, hopeful, but it was hard when this situation was almost eerily similar to the last. The only difference was that he was not going to be hunted down and he was not tasked with destroying worlds and killing people. He was thankful for that and the people seemed to genuinely want to help him, rather than harm. But he spent the last several weeks on the run for his life before going up against gods themselves. He wasn't going to trust strangers so easily. He took a breath through his nose and let it out.]

Okay. [He turned to leave, backing right up into someone behind him. He jumped.] Oh! Sorry.

Bala-inlota Practice

[Magic was, indeed, pretty good at healing. Something Hope was actually very familiar with. He decided Thaumaturgy would be the closest thing to what he knew from home and the first thing he decided would be best to learn was curative in nature.

Hope got to avoid being pulled into the games themselves, instead using what he learned to heal any players that could be sent his way with not too grievous of wounds. He was just a beginner, after all, but he was a welcome help among the nurse staff. Also, he knew first aid from his travels. Sometimes, the more practical thing was better than healing every small cut and bruise.]

Trust me, just letting it heal naturally is better when it's this minor. But - [He did, however, go for the more deeper wound on the person. Are you next in line? Another helper? Or something who believes he's doing it wrong by bandaging instead of using magic?]
