Riding the airship, at least, is a comforting feeling. It takes Alphinaud from a sudden and unusual displacement and provides a momentary reprieve as he's reminded already of home. That being the case, perhaps he hasn't traveled too far...
He's been sitting, deep in thought over such things, and feeling a tinge of nostalgia over his first carriage ride into Gridania. Among the passengers, most were silent and kept to themselves, but there was an exception— not unlike the present. As he turns towards the voice he's been hearing, he notices that it's now being directed at him. He tilts his head slightly, giving some serious thought to the simple question asked of him, but he smiles back.
"We won't know such things for sure until we uncover more information," he starts, having to first accept the possibility of an unpleasant truth. "But I believe we will be given ample opportunity to do so. For the time being, I can say that I have certainly been on the receiving end of a far worse welcome."
