Kuja sniffs lightly over the whole thing, tilting his head back against the memories. For now, that's all they are, irritating as some of them can be even these days. No, it hadn't all been entirely unpleasant, but those times were few and far in between. He should be glad that he can rest here, that it isn't all so bleak and desperate a situation.

She doesn't know him, and it would be best for this world if they hadn't seen his past. The things he'd done, the lives he'd destroyed. Oh, he would fess up to it if it all came to light, but his chances of survival here were better if he had fewer enemies and greater favor, and he wasn't sure yet with whom he would need it. Best to keep his head down until he had established himself. It was what he was good at.
"Keep at it here and you can do well. Their methods are tedious, but not impossible. I dare say they could learn a thing or two about how to modify spells and token exchanges of magic, but far be it for a student to speak anything against their teachings." Another sigh, more of a huff than anything, and he looks over his shoulder out the window beyond. "At least the world outside is beautiful. They haven't done anything to ruin that yet."
