Lightning Crash [The severity of the storm was greater than Roxas had seen, both here and back home. It was almost mesmerizing in a strange way to watch the rains fall, and see the crackle of lightning arc like fingers across dark clouds. When he wasn’t in classes Roxas watched the storm from one of the nearby windows, a small frown on his face.]
[If he noticed anyone looking like they were about to head out, he turned to them, a look of both surprise and concern on his face.]

Wand Wrong Way [Roxas knew that the rumours were just that: rumours. There was no hard evidence that this shop in question could have such a powerful wand. But if such a wand truly existed, it would have the power to get them back home. So it was worth a look, at the very least.]
[That was how Roxas got to where he was now, a note in hand with directions to this fabled shop. Though, “directions” was a generous term for the near-illegible scrawl on the piece of parchment in his hand. He had spent the better part of an hour fruitlessly searching the Merchant District, and with each passing moment he felt as if he was going in circles.]
Excuse me, but do you know if there’s a Balor’s Way anywhere near here? [If the directions proved to be fruitless, he’d let out a sigh, scowling at the note in his hand.]
This is just a wild goose chase, isn’t it?
Labwork [It had been a simple spell, or at least Roxas had hoped it would be. A simple spell to transform the little stone statuette of a cat into a live version of it. It was something he’d never done, but he felt he could try it. He’d read the spell carefully, practiced the gestures, studied the pronunciation. He was sure he could do it.]
[Evidently, he couldn’t.]
[When the flash of magic faded, the little statuette was still there, and Roxas was nowhere in sight. Then, after a few seconds pass…]
Meow??
[That peculiar cat with sandy-blonde fur and blue eyes wasn’t there before…]
